Use Your Credit Cards to your Advantage

How do you use your credit cards? Some people take a very half-hazard approach to their credit cards. They use them when they feel like it, when it’s convenient, or when some unexpected expense comes up. Their credit card statements are like a big surprise every month, as they have no idea how much they’ve spent.

It’s OK to use credit cards this way if you know you can always pay off the balance each month, no matter what it amounts to. But it’s still not an efficient or smart way to manage personal finances.

Regardless of whether you have one of the Best Credit Cards out there or one of the not so great ones, you should manage how you use them. Not only can this help you control your spending, it will also enable you to take full advantage of Cash Back Credit Cards rewards.

It’s entirely possible one of your credit cards has a rewards program you could be taking advantage of that you don’t even know about. Instead of using a cash back card, you’re using whatever one you happen to pull out of your wallet.

You want to be sure you’re using whichever credit card you have that offers the best rewards. Then start tallying up your spending each month. One easy way to do this is to just keep a small notebook on hand. Every time you charge something, write it down. You’ll soon find yourself foregoing purchases, or opting to pay cash instead.
