Embedded computer system and related information

Embedded system is a type of computer system required for the purpose of performing one or more dedicated functions. The programs are done through the real-time computing constraints. The embedded computers are actually ‘embedded’ inside the system as an integral part of the mechanical and hardware devices. Nevertheless, the users must remember that, in comparison to the embedded system computer, the general-purpose computers can perform a whole lot of functions than the fixed number of dedicated functions that is the characteristic of the embedded computers. The tasks of the general purpose computers are much more depended on the programming, which is not the case with an embedded computer system. However, the embedded system is the most commonly used device today.

There is another important component of the computer system i.e. the ISO 15693. It is actually a form of standard “Vicinity Cards”. As compared to the “Proximity Cards”, the “Vicinity Cards” can be read from a distance. The ISO 15693 computer systems operate at 13.56 MHz frequency. It offers a read distance of maximum 1-1.5 meters. The required magnetic field of the vicinity cards is less. It is about 0.15 to 5 A/m as the vicinity cards have to operate at greater distances.

Many general-purpose computers use different software applications for offering gifts and loyalty cards to the users. The loyalty cards, along with the gift cards, merchandise return cards, and loyalty cards are used with certain application with the e-mail delivering capabilities to the database of the masses. It also helps in reporting purposes to meet the demands of the retailers.
